I have been looking to grow the length of my natural hair for a while. The simple get the product that tells me what I want to hear was not working for me anymore. I have been trying out different products for years and all came to fail me. So I took a step back and decided to do more reading to see what my hair will respond to. After some serious digging, I found what made sense.
I woke up determined that today will be the day I wash my hair this week. Do not get me wrong, I do not wait months to wash my hair, I aim for at least once a week. Some weeks are tougher than others and some weekends are busier than others, but after some procastinating tactics and excuses throughout the week, I had to.
I decided to go natural in 2005 when I was a teenager and I was experiencing identity crisis issues. My mom was adamant that i would relax my hair but I rebelled( not a good idea by the way) and went ahead and cut my hair, starting from beyond tinnie winnie afro, more of a brush cut to the struggles I experienced trying to prove to the local township girls and boys that afros can be cool and beautiful. To be honest it was tough because back then I did not have access to a cool phone that had access to internet or countless data bundles.
